Eligibility Criteria of Coal India Limited MT Recruitment
Age Limit: For General (UR) and EWS category applicants, the upper age limit is 30 years as of August 31, 2023.
Age Relaxation: Category-wise relaxation in Upper Age Limit is mentioned below:
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) – 3 Years
- SC / ST – 5 Years
- For Persons with Disabilities:

GATE 2023 Score: Candidate must have appeared for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) – 2023) and qualified.
Educational Qualification:
Mining/ Civil: BE/ B.Tech/ B.Sc (Engg.) in relevant branch of Engineering with minimum 60% marks.
Geology: M.Sc. / M.Tech. in Geology or Applied Geology / Geophysics or Applied Geophysics with minimum 60% marks.
Qualifying Marks: The qualifying standards for candidates from the GENERAL (UR), OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) categories are 60%. A 5% reduction in the minimum qualifying marks, i.e. 55%, is granted to SC, ST, and PwD candidates.
Selection Process of Coal India Limited MT Recruitment
Candidates must have taken the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) in 2023 to be eligible.
Candidates would be shortlisted discipline-wise, category-wise in a ratio of 1:3 for further selection based on their GATE-2023 scores/marks and requirements.
